Why does siegmeyer go hollow

She came to him to deliver a message and after he heard it he went hollow so she killed him again. That's really all we know. I could theorize that he went hollow because he felt inadequate you save his ass a bunch of times and he starts getting kind of depressed about how useless he is towards the end but the game doesn't really say.

It never rains forever. What does it even mean to go hollow? It seems like some NPCs refer to you as hollow while others say dont go hollow. Hollow is when you look like beef jerkey, lose all sense of reason and become violent.

Considering hollowing is directly related to dying, we should assume that when NPCs go hollow they also die Laurentius , but it also brings up a bunch of other questions. How did Logan die up in Seath's empty room? How did Seigmeier die before his daughter killed him "again"? I don't think he went hollow. How did the Crestfallen Warrior die? Siegmeyer of Catarina is easily one of Dark Souls' most memorable NPCs, one that asks the player for help throughout their journey. To help players assist this knight through his rather obscure quest, we've updated this guide to give more detailed and organized information.

This guide should be much easier to follow now. Good luck, and don't you dare go Hollow. Siegmeyer of Catarina can be first seen outside of Sen's Fortress , sitting on a ledge just outside the gates. You don't need to speak to him here to start his quest, but this is the first time you'll be able to interact with him.

If Siegmeyer is sleeping, you'll need to ring a Bell of Awakening. Ringing both bells will cause Siegmeyer to move. For actually starting his quest, you must talk to Siegmeyer when you reach Anor Londo.

He can be found after the bonfire inside the castle. Make your way to the top of Anor Londo, kill any Silver and Black Knights in your path, then descend a spiral staircase to find Siegmeyer standing outside a door. There are multiple locations that Siegmeyer will move to throughout the game.

You only need to talk to him during certain encounters. He can be found in the following areas. You'll first encounter Siegmeyer outside of Sen's Fortress , resting just outside of the gates. This encounter is optional. Siegmeyer can be found further into the fortress once you've run both Bells of Awakening. Once you're on the outside ledge of the fortress and meet your first boulder, roll down the right side of the stairs to find Siegmeyer.

Make your way to Anor Londo. Inside the main building, once you reach the roof and deal with the Silver Knights on the path, go down the big spiral staircase until you spot the big onion knight standing outside a room. Three more Silver Knights will be waiting inside. Sieglinde was forced to kill her father in his condition.

After rewarding the player for their aid, she says she is returning to Catarina, and is not seen again. Siegward is a character that appears in Dark Souls 3 , and is unrelated to Siegmeyer and Sieglinde, a confusing fact given their nearly identical appearances. Like Siegmeyer, Siegward can be encountered in multiple locations over the course of Dark Souls 3. Sometimes he aids the player in a particular fight, while other times he has gotten himself into trouble and needs aid from the player.

At one point, Siegward can be found trapped in a well after a merchant has stolen his armor, requiring the player to go on a quest to retrieve it. Later, Siegward can be found locked in a cell, and can be freed if the player locates the key. Throughout these encounters, Siegward speaks frequently of a duty he must fulfill, one that is drawing ever closer. If the player successfully advances Siegward's questline beforehand, Siegward will appear at the Dark Souls 3 boss fight Yhorm the Giant and aid the player in the combat.

Yhorm, it turns out, was once Siegward's friend, but sacrificed himself to become a Lord of Cinder to keep darkness at bay. Before doing so, Yhorm gave Siegward a sword named Storm Ruler, capable of defeating Yhorm should he ever be corrupted.

The duty Siegward had been hinting at to the player was to slay Yhorm the Giant, his friend. Siegward's fate after the fight should he survive has been up for debate. After the fight Siegward he thanks the player once again for their aid and ask them to take part in a "final toast.
