What was insidious rated

The accident hardly seems noteworthy until Dalton slips into an unexplained unconsciousness. Not considered to be a true coma, he is nonetheless non-responsive to any external stimuli. After one too many of these ghostly encounters, the young mother insists that the family move again. Unlike its title suggests, there is nothing subtle about this horror fest or its intention to give audiences an uneasy theatrical experience when the lights go out.

Insidious is rated PG by the MPAA for thematic material, violence, terror and frightening images, and brief strong language. Violence: Rifle shots are heard and a murdered family and a blood soaked couch are shown. A bedroom is ransacked and bloody handprints are seen on bedding and windows.

A character engages in hand-to-hand fighting with gruesome figures. Characters are haunted and chased by apparitions. Occult themes and practices are depicted along with disturbing images, ghastly figures and startling incidents. Language: Frequent terms of Deity, some mild profanities, crude terms, slurs and a strong sexual expletive are included in the script. What elements do directors rely on to create suspense and fright?

How well does this film use those? Is there another setting in which this story could have been as effectively told? Do portrayals of satanic figures and occult practices promote experimentation? What is the appeal of scary movies? So scary! Made me jump so much! Go see it! Teen, 13 years old Written by Kaitjdoxnn August 11, Amazing I honestly don't know why some people are saying it's ok for 10 year olds. This movie is scary, too scary for anyone under If you must watch it, know that it is among the top ten scariest movies i the world.

I'm sure some other people can handle movies better, but to the average kid, please do not watch this movie unless you are 15 years old. Great movie though. Insidious is the scariest movie since The Exorcist. Insidious is very scary. This movie relies on stuff nightmares are made of.

Shadows, dark figures, demons. The scariest parts are especially in the second part of the movie where they move into the next house. The most violence is a bloody hand print. This movie will give you nightmares. Overall, it is an excellent film. The soundtrack is creepy, and ominous, it reminds me of The Shining soundtrack. The movie wouldn't be what is it with out. But please. Take this review seriously. Not for kids 10 and under. This title contains: Positive role models. Teen, 16 years old Written by selenarox June 5, Teen, 16 years old Written by horrorbuff October 13, Its a great scary movie for when you are not allowed to watch rated R movies!

Read my mind. Teen, 14 years old Written by MovieGuy72 October 3, It was amazing! It is a perfect balance of jumpscares and a build up of gradual horror. The soundtrack is amazing and adds so much to the theme, and there is great acting and great camera work.

It's all smooth sailing until Dalton is in a supposed "coma", but the actual reality is that he's haunted. What will Dalton's family do to stop this entity? First of all, many complain that the second act bogs down the film and is inferior to its first half.

I wholeheartedly disagree. I think as a whole the film is just fine. Yes, there's a drastic tonal shift mid-way, but that doesn't detract from the experience. The first half plays a typical haunted house flick, except it's actually scary, and the suspense is well built. Then the second half is like a cross between "Poltergeist", "House of Wax", and a little of "Beetlejuice" sprinkled in for good measure. Furthermore, the performances while nothing to write home about, are pretty decent to say the least.

The two leading protagonists do their job and Dalton is pretty solid given what he had to work with. Moreover, the script is very inventive, and has multiple twists and turns. Yes, this isn't the most unique screenplay, but it still stands on its own, and is actually quite effective.

To top it off, the production is just very beautiful. This movie is very easy on the eyes when it comes to cinematography and location. Now the question everyone is dying to hear. Is it scary?

I'd say yes, but don't get too carried away. If you walk in thinking your going to have nightmares, or if you're going to see Rosie O' Donnell, chances are you'll be a little disappointed. However, if you're going in expecting a creepy thriller that just happens to have a few intense moments, you'll be in for a fun night out.

Also, I love the nostalgic factor this movie has. It feels as though it was made in the 80's. Old school horror strikes back! With a restraint heavy PG rating, and a middle-of-the-road concept, "Insidious" isn't looking too pretty. However, looks can be deceiving. This is one movie that doesn't mess around, and doesn't play it safe either. I can easily say I will be revisiting this film from time to time just because it's so fun. You'll laugh, you'll jump, you'll be entertained.

This is what a fun night out should be like. Get your large popcorn and soda, and sit along with the crowd. Be prepared for a good time. MovieProductions Apr 1, FAQ 7. Who were the family members seen as dead whistling dad, mother and ironing woman, shot by a younger woman, presumably the daughter? Were they a family murdered in the first house?
