Who is the screamer in abandon all ships
I really do. I enjoy the instrumentals, synths, cleans even. But now it's the dude's screams that are lacking. Can't win with this band. Working vocal cords? Do you know anything about screaming?
They're not even that bad. Chris Caron lol yes he does, do you? I go to this every once in a while as a confidence booster, for when I feel like I'm a shitty screamer. This is What the fuck! Is he even trying anymore? I really think they kind of went downhill after Geeving.
If he worked on his screams more than I would love it, but they kind of make me cringe compared to their old stuff. Dub Tube It's called yell-screaming. It's just another technique in unclean vocals like fry-screams, pig squeals, etc. Ange fried until they went on Disband and sold out for a record deal. Just compared to their first album, his vocals don't sound the same at all to me and it's personally not gonna be the Abandon All Ships I remembered loving. Plus getting down how to be a vocalist isn't too difficult once you practice.
I'm currently working on a band, thank you. I don see why everyone is dissing the screams. That's what makes AAS unique.
If you don't like it then just go listen to someone else. I think they're doing perfectly fine. And Martin Broda just keeps getting better.
It's like everyone in the band is improving except for Angelo. He's holding them all back. I love the music but the screeaams.
They're sooo bad. If they had someone who could actually scream well, this whole album would be amaazing. Starting to warm up to this album a little bit, but I'm still having a hard time with those screams. I like to be able to kind of sing along with a song, and for the most part with me that means having comprehensive lyrics, not slurred together like Angelo does.
Clean the screams up a little, make them a little more crisp, and keep the direction the band is going, and I think it might just be one of my favourite bands. I'm also probably just so used to people not destroying their vocal chords with their singing.
I haven't lost faith in this band, but fuck, this album is weeeak. I love the music, I love the lyrics, and I love Martins vocals on this album. Angelo has stepped up and made his screaming clearer but it's still kinda off.
Like maybe if they got a new screamer they would be better. When I listened to this album the first time I was like ehh but eventually the screams grew on me. It's not terrible but it's not the best. Geeving is still the best. Infamous had a few good songs and this has some good songs too. Paradise is the best though. Wtf guys?? Abandon All Ships! In their defence, the band do manage to execute some half decent breakdowns and metalcore conventions that will certainely get the crowds moving, whether that be moshing, circle pits or walls of death.
But then the synth comes in, and it all just sounds like less of a serious effort and more of a gimmick. Screamer Angelo Aita sometimes comes across as a lazy screamer too, with his screams often being unpremeditated and switch inadvertedly between full belt screams and half-arsed yells.
The thing is there is definitely some potential within Abandon All Ships! Between them and Attack Attack! Atheist and antitheist. The three just. After rising in the Toronto scene, the group eventually toured and opened for many larger bands in their same genre or home country such as Silverstein.
